As force can not be separated from a person having it, or the quality of fire to lit or burn can not be separated from fire, similarly it can not be imagined to separate Shiva and Shakti from each other. In other words, the basic force behind the creation and regulation of the cosmos is one, which can be called 'Parmeshwar', 'Ishwar', 'Param Brahma' or by any other name. To create the universe, this power divided itself into two parts, without which it was not possible to create it.

In the rare ancient texts on Kundalini, it has been depicted as a wonderful power which make one achieve 'Bhoga' and Moksha' at the same time. It has been considered that the sexual energy of the man (rather of the whole animal kingdom) is the real life-energy.
